Welcome to Glacier Views. This two floor, 3500 square foot home in the Garibaldi Highlands of Squamish BC commands an unmatched, unobstructed view of the Squamish Chief, Howe Sound, and the Tantalus Range. This property really does live up to the name of Glacier Views. In winter time, when the first light of the morning colours the snow covered peaks across the valley, it might well be one of the most spectacular vistas in the world.

The front door opens up to a slate entryway that has radiant heat, from which you can see the kitchen, dining area and living room, all on an open floor plan. The main floor was completely rebuilt in 2008 and 2009 in a post and beam design, which shows off the views of the mountains and the ocean with picture windows all across the western facade. The floors are made of red oak, and the Douglas fir posts, beams, and ceiling rafters come from massive timbers that grew on Vancouver Island. The cherry wood kitchen offers one double and one single basin sink, Wolf oven and microwave, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, and chocolate granite counters along two walls and on a large centre island with a raised bar. It opens directly onto the dining area, where six can easily sit around the glass table. Windows surround the dining area on three sides. The living room is just across the floor to ceiling stone faced natural gas fireplace, and offers plenty of seating along the 12 foot basalt bench and on the leather couches. Music lovers will appreciate the Schimmel 510 grand piano and the Bose stereo. A deck extends the entire length of the house on the upstairs main level.

There is a guest bath with an extra shower across from the living room, adjacent to the entry way. The master suite has a queen bed and duvet, with a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower en suite and walk-in closet. French doors open up to the deck. Next to the master suite is a second bedroom, with closet.

From the entryway, you can also walk down the stairs to a second spacious living area with a living room, gas-fireplace, 32 inch LCD TV with DVD - sorry no cable service, and VHS player, a second kitchen with fridge, dishwasher, oven, and microwave eating area, laundry, two children's bedrooms one twin bed in each, powder room and bathroom with shower, and a downstairs master suite with a California king bed, en suite bathroom with double sinks, Jacuzzi bath, and separate shower. The downstairs also has a deck you can enter through the sliding doors in the living room and French doors of the master suite. There is a separate entry way to the downstairs with direct access to the outside via outdoor steps.

The house has very high speed, 15 MB/s average, broad-band wireless internet service, accessible by password.

The campus of Quest University, where the dining hall is open to the public, is less than 2 kilometres away. From the end of Glacier View Drive, you can start walking on heavily forested trails that are virtually endless. Alice Lake Provincial Park is an easy bike ride from the house in the summer time. The entrance to Garibaldi Provincial Park is 10 kilometres up the road, where in winter snow-shoeing and back-country skiing beckon. Downtown Squamish is about 7 kilometres and the Brennan Park skating arena and pool are about 3 kilometres away. The improvements on the Sea-to-Sky Highway make the trip between the house and Whistler Creekside about 45 minutes going south you can reach the Lions Gate Bridge to downtown Vancouver in about 50 minutes.
